They solve different problems
OpenClaw gives a technical operator a flexible agent that can use tools and act across connected systems. Its own documentation describes a personal-assistant trust model with one trusted operator boundary per gateway.
Glivent starts with a business process rather than a general agent. We define the job, the information it needs, the systems it may access, the checks it must pass and the point where a person takes over.

Why broad agent access needs care
OpenClaw can execute commands, read and write files, use network services and send messages when those capabilities are enabled. That flexibility is the point of the product, but it also means the operator must manage a large security boundary.
OpenClaw's documentation warns that users who can message the same tool-enabled agent may share its delegated authority. It recommends separate gateways and ideally separate operating-system users or hosts when people do not share the same trust boundary.
Glivent takes a narrower approach. A document-intake workflow does not need general access to a staff member's computer or every connected system. It receives the specific connection and actions required for that job. Anything outside the approved path is blocked or handed to a person.
Security advisories are part of the operating cost
OpenClaw publishes security advisories and detailed hardening guidance. This is useful transparency, but a self-hosted deployment still needs someone to review advisories, apply updates, check plugins and test that its permissions remain appropriate.
