Glivent answers

How does Glivent manage access to company knowledge?

Direct Answer

Company knowledge is configured from approved sources and made available according to the access required for the implementation. Indexing a document does not automatically mean every staff member should be able to retrieve its contents.

Start with approved documents

Before documents become part of company knowledge, the business needs to decide which sources are current, useful and appropriate. Old policies, duplicate files and unrestricted shared drives create poor answers and access problems.

Access should follow the work

Glivent maps staff roles and use cases to the information they need. A general procedure may be available widely, while personnel, financial or client material needs tighter controls.

Test the answers staff receive

Permissions are only one part of the job. Glivent also tests realistic staff questions to check that the system uses the right source, respects access rules and says when the documents do not support an answer.
